AZIMIO TO HOLD DEMOS FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS ‘DUE TO PUBLIC DEMAND

Azimio la Umoja coalition has officially confirmed that it will hold anti-government demonstrations across the country for three consecutive days next week.

In a statement released this afternoon, the Raila Odinga-led outfit has said demonstrations will take place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The coalition leadership said the decision was reached after several requests from all sectors.

The announcement comes a day after opposition leader Raila Odinga would go as planned whether the government issues a permit or not.

“We will have countrywide protests next week on Wednesday until President William Ruto’s government listens to the grievances of Kenyans” Raila said.

Mr. Odinga said the demos were in line with calls from Kenyans who have expressed dissatisfaction with the Ruto led administration over the high cost of living and the Finance Act, which is currently suspended by court.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance has been holding anti-government demos since March, 2023, protesting against the high cost of living.
