City Hall Official Fredrick Ochanda In The Process Of Transfering Money And Assets To Friends and Relatives to evade EACC Dragnet
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating Nairobi City County for corruption.
Reports allege that senior officials at City Hall may have been involved in suspicious transactions worth millions.
EACC has now confirmed that all is not well in the capital city and they have now shifted their focus on some individuals believed to be beneficiaries of corruption.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Friday carried out a targeted raid on a senior government official identified as Fredrick Ondari Ochanda.
Ochanda, serving as the Assistant Director responsible for Development Control in the Built Environment and Urban Planning, came under scrutiny as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption and fraud.
The authority said Ondari’s unexplained wealth includes bank accounts, commercial buildings, and high-end vehicles.
According to further reports, Ondari has now started working with some friends and relatives to transfer the assets he acquired illicitly in order not to lose everything, further reports indicate.
It is not known if EACC has frozen the suspected accounts and assets as the official is in top gear to evade the EACC dragnet.
