Court Orders Joho-Linked Firm to Compensate Ex-Employee Ksh 961,000 for Unlawful Dismissal
Portside Freight Terminals Limited linked to the family of Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho ordered to pay former employee Edna Simbi Ksh 961,000 following a court ruling.
Justice Monica Mbaru of the Employment and Labour Relations Court determined that Ms Simbi’s dismissal was unlawful and unfair.
The court mandated compensation including Ksh 792,460 for 10 months gross salary, Ksh 79,246 for notice pay and Ksh 89,948 for leave pay as well as provide her with a certificate of service.
