Kware Murders: Suspect Collins Jumaisi Khalusha Claims Police Molested and Tortured Him to Force a Confession

In a shocking development, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the primary suspect in the Kware murders, has made disturbing allegations against the police, claiming they molested and tortured him to extract a confession. Khalusha, who was arraigned in court on Monday, provided a detailed account of the alleged abuse, raising serious concerns about police conduct and the integrity of the investigation.

During his court appearance, Khalusha stated, “The police officers stripped me naked, beat me with batons, and subjected me to electric shocks. They kept me in a dark room without food or water for days.” He went on to describe the conditions as inhumane and degrading, asserting that the physical and psychological torment was aimed at forcing him to admit to crimes he did not commit.

Khalusha’s allegations have sparked outrage among human rights activists and the general public. Amnesty International Kenya has called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the claims. Irungu Houghton, the Executive Director of Amnesty International Kenya, remarked, “These allegations are deeply troubling. Torture and molestation are serious human rights violations. We demand an independent probe to ensure justice and accountability.”

The Kware murders, which involved the brutal killing of three family members in their home, have gripped the nation with horror. The case has been under intense scrutiny, with the police under pressure to solve it swiftly. However, Khalusha’s claims have cast a shadow over the investigation, with questions arising about the methods used to gather evidence and obtain confessions.

Khalusha’s lawyer, John Mbiu, emphasized the need for the court to consider the allegations seriously. “My client has suffered immense trauma and pain. The confession obtained under such circumstances cannot be deemed credible. We urge the court to dismiss any evidence acquired through torture and order an independent medical examination to document the injuries sustained,” Mbiu argued.

In response to the allegations, the National Police Service issued a statement denying any wrongdoing. “The police force adheres to strict protocols and procedures. We categorically deny the allegations of torture and molestation. The suspect’s confession was obtained lawfully, and we stand by the integrity of our investigation,” the statement read. The police have also indicated their willingness to cooperate with any independent investigation to prove their adherence to lawful practices.

The court has scheduled a hearing next week to further address Khalusha’s claims and determine the next steps in the legal process. As the case unfolds, the nation watches closely, hoping for justice for the victims of the Kware murders and for the truth behind Khalusha’s allegations to come to light.
