UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala Warns CS Kuria and Murkomen.

In a bold statement addressing the escalating political tensions within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Secretary General Cleophas Malala has issued a stern warning to Cabinet Secretaries Moses Kuria and Kipchumba Murkomen to desist from engaging in political activities or face the consequences. Malala emphasized that their involvement in politics is contrary to the expectations of their respective positions, urging them to either comply or resign.

“CS Kuria and CS Murkomen must cease their political engagements immediately. Their role is to serve in their official capacities, not to meddle in party politics. If they wish to continue their political endeavors, they must step down from their positions,” Malala asserted during a press briefing in Nairobi.

The Secretary General’s comments come amidst a heated exchange involving prominent party members, including MP Oscar Sudi, Gathoni Wa Muchomba, and Governor Mutahi Kahiga, all of whom have been vocal about their disagreements over Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s political maneuvers. Malala did not mince words in addressing these disputes, threatening disciplinary action against those involved.

“Let this serve as a warning to MP Sudi, Wa Muchomba, and Governor Kahiga. The party will not tolerate such public outbursts and internal conflicts. If they do not adhere to party discipline, we will take necessary actions to uphold the integrity of UDA,” Malala stated emphatically.

Malala’s directive underscores the ruling party’s efforts to maintain unity and focus on its governance agenda. He reiterated that the primary goal of UDA is to deliver on its promises to the electorate, which necessitates a cohesive and disciplined approach from all members and leaders within the party.

“Our priority is the well-being of Kenyans and the implementation of our development agenda. Any behavior that disrupts this focus will be addressed accordingly. We must work together, not against each other, to achieve our objectives,” Malala added.

This internal strife highlights the challenges UDA faces as it strives to consolidate its power and implement its policies effectively. The party’s leadership is keen to ensure that all members adhere to the established norms and contribute positively to the party’s mission.

In response to Malala’s statement, political analysts have noted the significance of maintaining party discipline, especially within the ruling coalition, to prevent any further fragmentation that could undermine its authority and effectiveness in governance.

The unfolding scenario within UDA will be closely watched, as it could set a precedent for how internal dissent is managed within the party and possibly influence the broader political landscape in Kenya as the nation heads towards future elections.
