President William Ruto’s office has been allocated Ksh.5.1 billion in the new proposed budget, while Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s office will receive Ksh.4.8 billion. This allocation is part of the Ksh.4 trillion budget that has been approved by Parliament.

 

The allocation for the President’s office includes funds for various programs and initiatives, including the facilitation of engagements and enhancing coordination in the office. The budget also includes funds for the maintenance of the President’s official residence and refurbishment of the Harambee House Annex.

 

The allocation for the Deputy President’s office is also significant, with funds set aside for various programs and initiatives. These include the preparation of progress reports and consultative forums on International Development Partnerships Coordination projects. The budget also includes funds for the maintenance of the Deputy President’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi.

 

The allocation for the Office of the Deputy President is an increase of Ksh.59 million compared to the previous financial year. The office will distribute the funds across four key programs: General Administration and Support Services, Coordination and Supervision, Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President, and Government Strategic Priorities and Interventions.

 

The Office of the Spouse of the Deputy President will focus on concerted efforts to uplift the boychild in society. The budget includes funds for identifying and screening 12,000 boys for drug and substance abuse, facilitating 18 camps in different counties, training 2,400 boys, 1,000 widows, and 40 widows’ groups, and conducting ten sensitization activities.

 

The allocation for the Deputy President’s office is part of the broader Ksh.4 trillion budget that aims to achieve programs within the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). The budget includes a total of Ksh.2.2 trillion for various government programs and initiatives.
