DP William Ruto formally kicked out of Jubilee party

Deputy President William Ruto was officially thrown out of Jubilee today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre during the National Delegates Convention (KICC). President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the NDC’s unveiling of new national officials who would each serve five-year mandates. Uhuru was unanimously re-elected as party leader, thereby putting him in charge of Jubilee and extending his political career beyond his August retirement as President.

The position of Deputy Party Leader for Ruto has been divided into four on the list of new officials. Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi (Strategy), Taveta MP Naomi Shabaan (Outreach), former Kajiado Senator Peter Mositet (Programs), and former Buuri MP Kinoti Gatobu are the new deputy party leaders (Operations). Jeremiah Kioni, a Ndaragwa MP, is the new Secretary-General, after Raphael Tuju, who stepped down after conversations with the President.
Uhuru, on the other hand, pushed ODM leader Raila Odinga to consider Tuju for a cabinet seat if the Azimio la Umoja Coalition wins the August 9 elections. Nelson Dzuya and David Murathe, the National and Deputy National Chairpersons, respectively, were re-elected. Kieni MP Kanini Kega (National Director Elections), Aldas MP Adan Keynan (Parliamentary Secretary), and Cherengany MP Joshua Kutuny were also honored by the party (Deputy Secretary-General). During the NDC, Jubilee officially resolved to kick out all party rebels allied to Ruto’s UDA Party.
