Dr. Ekuru Aukot (Third-Way Alliance) calls the immediate resignation of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

The Thirdway Alliance Party has demanded that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, Dr. William Ruto, resign immediately due to severe wrongdoing. Party chairman Ekuru Aukot accused them of participating in campaigns and exploiting state resources to conduct political events in a strongly worded letter sent to the President. “This country, and its millions of inhabitants, are troubled that not long after your re-election in October 2017, you not only abdicated your duties as president but also decided to use public resources and authorities conferred on you to organize for succession politics.”

“This is not why Kenyans elected you, because each of you has been involved in aggressive politicking and egregious neglect of duty.” President Kenyatta was also chastised by Dr. Aukot for spearheading the BBI proposal, which was thwarted by the court, and for indulging in succession politics. “The meetings at State House Nairobi and the Sagana III are strong indicators that you have chosen to use state resources to promote the candidacy of your favorite political project.” You’ve been publicly engaging in partisan and divisive politics with state resources and office perks.”

The Thirdway Alliance Party has criticisized DP Ruto for forsaking his responsibilities and indulging in political campaigns, as well as utilizing his Karen office as a political base. “Ruto has been launching political efforts for the United Democratic Party from the public-owned Deputy President’s mansion in Karen. He’s turned his taxpayer-funded home into a campaign headquarters for his political party, where he receives UDA members and hosts defectors from other parties.”

“The Thirdway Alliance Kenya now asks that both of you – Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto – quit immediately and let a caretaker administration to take office.” There are measures in place in the Constitution to fill that deficit.”
