Ugandan Award-winning artiste Eddy Kenzo has left Kenyans shocked after he reposted a copy of the “Hera Nyalo Sandi’ song by Brizy Annechild on his own channel, which has over a million subscribers. This comes barely a month after the video of the song was officially released.
As luck would have it, Brizy Annechild downloaded the Tweyagale instrumental and did his own Luo version, thus sending Kenyans on TikTok to a frenzy. According to Brizy’s managers, they were 50-50; the Ugandan star would acknowledge the song, but it turns out that after Ugandans themselves made their approval, Eddy Kenzo went ahead to show love too. It shows how mature and united the East African music market is.
So far, we are yet to speak to Eddy Kenzo on his reasons behind the move, much as we are confused about how the benefits of the song will be shared across. Keep it here on Sunset Kenya, as we get you more on this developing story.
