Upon the defection of the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza, there was a lot of noise about what this recent change of events could lead to.
Most of the talk was about where the ‘Coast Votes’ had leaned to because it has always been known that the region is Raila Odinga’s bedroom. All talk was quashed after a video surfaced the internet clearly showing Garissa Township Mp Hon. Aden Duale manhandling Kilifi County Governor aspirant George Kithi whisking him away from the proximity of Deputy President William Ruto. It is a video that has brought a lot of debate on the position of Duale in that faction of the divide.
In a bid to consolidate his public image and that of Kenya Kwanza in general, Mr. Duale said that he had no idea who George Kithi was. He further explained that before the press conference, every bigwig was assigned a spot behind Deputy President William Ruto and that Mr. Kithi was not around. According to the former Leader of Majority, George Kithi would have been removed by Ruto’s security personnel nevertheless. He, therefore, acted before the security arrived.
This is what Aden Duale had to say, “I did not know who he was and why he was trying to stand between the Deputy President and Musalia Mudavadi, I was following protocol,” he told Citizen Digital.
“It was a security issue and I tried to intervene before the DP’s security came and removed him,” he recalls. “Before the press conference, everyone had been introduced in the boardroom and Kithi was not there as he came late and so we did not know who he was.”
Kenya Kwanza was welcoming Governor Amason Kingi and his party named PAA (Pamoja African Alliance) after it defected from Azimio citing that there is no transparency in the way issues are handled. In his welcoming post on Facebook, DP Ruto noted that his UDA faction is transparent, open, and democratic, and that’s why many parties are choosing his side.
“Kenya Kwanza is growing bigger and better. We welcome Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and the members of the PAA Party to the alliance of the willing and the free. We are open, transparent, and democratic in our engagement with our partners, our supporters, and the people of Kenya.
