Jariel Ndeda, a Mang’u High student,  top student in 2021 KCSE

In the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School, Jariel Ndeda of Mang’u High School has emerged as the top candidate (KCSE). On Saturday, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha revealed the results. Ndeda received an A with a grade of 87.167.

A total of 1,138 candidates received an A. (plain). The number of those who received a C+ or higher was slightly over 145,000, up from 143,000 last year. In 2020, 831,015 students took the exam in 10,413 locations, compared to 752,981 candidates in 10,437 locations in 2019. This represents a 9.39 percent growth of 78,034 people.

The results are announced, which opens the door to admission to universities, colleges, and technical schools.Candidates can check their results by texting their KCSE index number to 076. On February 28, KCSE practicals and oral tests for German, French, Arabic, and Kenya sign languages began, followed by theory papers on March 14.
