Junet Mohammed, Babu Owino summoned to DCI headquarters to shed light on the stoning of Raila Odinga’s chopper

MPs John Mbadi, Junet Mohammed, and Babu Owino have been summoned by DCI detectives in connection with the attack on Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga’s chopper in Uasin Gishu on Friday. On Tuesday, the three people who accompanied Raila to the funeral of businessman Jackson Kibor are anticipated to record witness testimonies.

The summons came as Eldoret senior resident magistrate Emily Kigen gave police seven days to keep 17 people detained in connection with the incident pending the outcome of investigations. Four accusations, including attempted murder and criminal destruction of property, are likely to be filed against the accused.

In Kabenes, Uasin Gishu County, on Friday, ODM leader Raila Odinga’s chopper was hit with stones by boisterous youngsters. Odinga and other Azimio La Umoja officials were in the area for the funeral of businessman Jackson Kibor. “At the event in Kabenes, Uasin Gishu, young people attacked my plane, shattering the air shield with rocks clearly intended at me. They had pelted my vehicles with stones on my route to the plane “In a statement, Odinga stated.
