A 55-year-old man died from a suspected overdose of sex enhancement pills at a hostel in Ndhiwa town on Friday night, prompting police in Homa Bay County to initiate an inquiry.
The deceased, whose identity has been concealed by authorities, is alleged to have collapsed and died while having sexual relations with a 25-year-old woman.
The deceased booked a room at the lodging before being joined by his female friend later that night, according to Ndhiwa sub-county Police Commander Paul Rioba. After the deceased collapsed, the lady reported to the bar management, who then alerted officers from the Ndhiwa Police Station, according to Rioba.
Rioba told Citizen Digital that the man may have taken viagra pills to improve his energy, which led to his death.
He claimed that the lady is being held at the Ndhiwa Police Station for further questioning in relation to the event, while the deceased body has been taken to the Manyatta Kobodo mortuary pending an autopsy.
