One person was arrested in Olkalou today as Kenya Power security officers and the Police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in Kieni area of Olkalou, Nyandarua County.
During the operation, ten litres of transformer oil, sisal ropes, two hacksaws, a plier, a wire cutter, and an improvised isolating stick were recovered from the suspect’s house. The accused was booked at Olkalou Police Station and will be arraigned in court upon completion of investigations, to face charges of vandalism.
Further efforts are going on to apprehend three of his accomplices who escaped the police dragnet.
Kenya Power has intensified security operations to stamp out vandalism, illegal connections and other crimes which undermine the quality and reliability of power supply to customers.
