The Nairobi Metropolitan Service has rolled out a programme to provide its residents with free WiFi.
The DG Mohamed Badi stated that the initiative is designed to ensure that the county is digitized and modernized and improve its city parks.

However, the WiFi will be stationed in specific places, including popular parks such as City Park, Uhuru Park, Michuki Park, and Jevanjee Gardens. Based on the Director-General statements, the NMS is currently on project repair on all streetlights within the county and upgrading smart lights.
They have currently managed to repair about 50000 streets lights since the transfer of power on four primary functions of the county governor, including Health, Development Services, Public Works and Transport.
