Jalang’o, a radio personality, has confirmed his decision to leave the media in order to run for a seat in parliament in the next general elections. The Langata MP candidate has recently been on a campaigning spree, which takes a lot of attention and time. One of the factors that has accelerated his departure from radio is this (Kiss FM).
Kiss FM will be Jalang’o’s final radio position, he revealed. It will be difficult for his radio fans to accept his departure from Kiss FM. He and Kamene have already established a good chemistry and rapport that has captivated listeners. And this is why he’s looking forward to bring in the ‘next Jalang’o’ as he exits the station.
“First things first, February 9th will be my last day on the radio so that I can focus on politics, that is a transition we have already arranged,” he said, adding that he would also step back from running his private businesses. Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) set February 9th as the deadline for public officers to resign if they intend to vie in the upcoming elections. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said that it would not approve candidates who will have breached this requirement.
Jalas has formally filed a deed poll to change his name from Felix Odiwuor to Jalang’o Jalang’o in preparation for the elections. On July 15, 2021, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna presented Jalas with a life membership certificate, indicating that he will run for the seat on an ODM ticket if he wins the nominations.
