President Uhuru Kenyatta dedicated an ultra-modern Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) regional hospital on Thursday, demonstrating the government’s commitment to enhancing the security sector’s welfare in order to provide better services to Kenyans. With a capacity of 105 beds, the state-of-the-art Isiolo Regional Hospital is a level 4 facility that will serve the healthcare needs of service personnel, their dependents, and veterans in the upper Eastern region, which includes the counties of Isiolo, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Meru, Nanyuki, and Samburu.
“The facility in front of us will provide Level 4 specialist services to service personnel and their families in this location, including surgical, internal medicine, obstetric/gynecological services, pediatric services, and critical care. As a result, the time and resources required to travel all the way to Nairobi will be reduced, as was previously the case,” the President remarked.
The KDF Isiolo Regional Facility, according to the Head of State, complements the Level 4 hospital currently operating at Kahawa Garrison and the Trauma and Counselling Centre at Manda in Lamu County
