President Kenyatta Commissions Ultra-modern  Isiolo Regional Military Hospital

President Kenyatta said the new hospital marks an important step in the healthcare reforms for the disciplined forces, which are in line with the Government’s agenda on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), which has seen improvements in the services offered to the civilian population as well, during the launch at Isiolo Barracks in Meru County.

“The facility in front of us will provide Level 4 specialist services to service personnel and their families in this location, including surgical, internal medicine, obstetric/gynecological services, pediatric services, and critical care. As a result, the time and resources required to travel all the way to Nairobi will be reduced, as was previously the case,” the President remarked.

President Kenyatta noted that the hospital is part of his administration’s ongoing modernization of state and security institutions, which began in 2013. “In that period, we have modernized our state institutions and security organs to a level that is unprecedented in our country’s history,” President Kenyatta stated.

The KDF Isiolo Regional Facility, according to the Head of State, complements the Level 4 hospital currently operating at Kahawa Garrison and the Trauma and Counselling Centre at Manda in Lamu County
