Olive Mugenda has been re-appointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital Board by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Mugenda will be serving in the same position for the second time, during a three-year tenure. The gazette notice read, “I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, re-appoint—Olive Mugenda (Prof.) to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 1st April, 2022,”
On April 1, 2019, she was appointed as the hospital’s Non-Executive Chairperson for the first time. Mugenda previously served as the vice-chancellor of Kenyatta University, a position she held for ten years before retiring in 2016. She is also a member of the Judicial Service Commission, where she was elected chairwoman during the search for the current Chief Justice, Martha Koome.
