Raila’s team chopper pelted with stones causing damages in Soy constituency Uasin Gishu County

In Kebenes, Uasin Gishu County, a chopper carrying Azimio la Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga was stoned by angry youngsters. The event occurred on Friday evening, just after Mzee Jackson Kibor’s funeral at Samitui farm. Mr Odinga said in a statement that the strike destroyed the chopper’s air protection. He stated his vehicles were also bombarded with rocks, and that the attack was upsetting. “My blunder was attending the funeral of Mr Jackson Kibor, a long-time friend. I want to express my gratitude to the security officers who went above and beyond to assure our safety “he stated

“I am optimistic that Kenya will hold a peaceful, free, and fair election in August,” he concluded, despite the violence directed at him and his team today. The event was confirmed by Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ayub Gitonga, who added that an inquiry was ongoing. “We may allow people to sell their political parties,” he continued, “but we cannot tolerate any form of political intolerance.” According to Mr Odinga’s aides, including ODM Devolution Secretary Kipkorir Menjo, the nasty incident began when youngsters began hurling stones at the ODM leader’s vehicles, causing the chopper to be damaged.
“Those youths pelted Raila’s vehicles as they were leaving the house.” One of them was successful in hurling the stone at the chopper. “Baba (Mr. Odinga) has already consoled the late Kibor’s family,” he stated. Junet Mohamed, a Suna East MP who accompanied Mr. Odinga on his tour of Deputy President William Ruto’s garden, posted photographs of the wrecked chopper on Twitter. Mr. Odinga blamed the attack on DP Ruto’s loyalists in a Friday evening statement.
