Two cleaners arrested after CCTV captured them stealing a TV set from Milimani law courts

Two male cleaners hired to clean the Milimani Law Courts were detained last weekend after they were captured on CCTV cameras taking a television set from the hallways. Andrew Orina, 21, and David Nyabuto, 21, were seen on camera removing a 55-inch Samsung TV from the wall and walking away with it.

Both work for Jepco Cleaning Services, a company that is hired to provide cleaning services at the courts. One of the cleaners was arrested and taken to the Capitol Hill Police Station, while the other is being investigated for stealing a phone from a magistrate, according to reports. The suspects were apprehended today as they went to work as usual, and police are investigating the incident so that charges can be filed.
The matter has ignited tension among police officers and security personnel tasked with securing the court premises. A senior police officer in the city was overheard lecturing his subordinates about the situation and how the media obtained such information, claiming that the publicity would jeopardize investigations.
He was overheard saying that a car of a senior court official was linked to the movement of the TV from the court premises.
