Court throws out a defamation case filed by Ruiru Water Services Finance Boss Mary Ngima Karogo against nine media houses.
Karogo filed a suit accusing the media houses including the standard group and individual journalists of tainting her reputation by allegedly branding her as corrupt.
The journalists published articles based on a public complaint letter received by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
In the letter, a Kenyan citizen wanted EACC to probe corrupt and mismanagement resources by Karogo.
Karogo shall bear court costs after her application was struck out for lack of merit.
The media and journalists must not be intimidated by exaggerated and baseless defamation accusations. Public servants must accept to be accountable to taxpayers.
Long live media freedom.
