An Air India flight bound for London reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday morning.
In a statement posted on X, the airline confirmed that Flight 171 “was involved in an incident.”
According to data from Flightradar24, the Boeing 787 reached an altitude of just 625 feet before tracking abruptly stopped.
Social media images showed thick black smoke billowing near the runway, fueling concerns.
Air India stated it is “ascertaining the details” and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
