U.S. President Donald Trump and Veteran Show Host Tucker Carlson differ over Israel striking Iran.
President Trump has hit back at Tucker Carlson after the former Fox News presenter suggested he had abandoned his America First principles by allowing Israel to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities and military hierarchy on Thursday.
Carlson criticized Trump in a newsletter published on Friday, saying, “While the American military may not have physically perpetrated the assault, years of funding and sending weapons to Israel, which Donald Trump just bragged about on Truth Social, undeniably place the U.S. at the center of last night’s event.”
Carlson added, “Politicians purporting to be America First can’t now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it.”
He also described his former colleagues Sean Hannity and Mark Levin and his former boss Rupert Murdoch as “warmongers.”
In an interview with Michael Scherer released yesterday, Trump said that since he was the one responsible for creating the term “America First,” he would decide what it means.
“Well, considering that I’m the one that developed ‘America First,’ and considering that the term wasn’t used until I came along, I think I’m the one that decides that,” Trump told Scherer.
