Fans Told to Arrive 5 Hours Early for Harambee Stars–Zambia CHAN Clash
Kenyan football fans heading to Kasarani Stadium for the Harambee Stars’ African Nations Championship (CHAN) showdown with Zambia on Sunday have been ordered to arrive at least five hours before kickoff.
The Local Organising Committee issued the directive on Tuesday, August 12, warning that only mobile e-tickets will be accepted at the gates. Printed tickets will be rejected.
The tough stance follows Sunday’s chaos, August 10, when some spectators stormed into the stadium without valid tickets. Officials said tickets must be purchased exclusively from the authorised online vendor to prevent fraud.
Committee chair Nicholas Musonye urged fans to comply with security protocols and follow instructions from event officials, saying swift checks are vital to avoid a repeat of last weekend’s disorder.
