Former Siaya County Assembly Clerk Shot Dead by Police in Kisumu
Former Siaya County Assembly Clerk, Felix Isaac Olwero, was shot dead by police outside his Whitehouse Resort in Seme, Kisumu County, early Monday morning in what is believed to be a case of mistaken identity.
Olwero, 50, who also owned the resort, was reportedly responding to a suspected break-in when police mistook him for one of the intruders and opened fire.
Police said officers from Kombewa Police Station had rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call from the resort manager, Sandra Okech. On arrival, the officers sealed off the rear side of the property. Moments later, they spotted six men coming out of a nearby thicket, allegedly armed with pangas and other crude weapons.
