Tanzania has suffered a setback after losing the hosting rights for the 30th East Africa Law Society (EALS) Annual Conference and General Meeting.
The decision was made public on Monday through a communiqué by EALS President Ramadhan Abubakar, who announced that the event would now take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, due to safety concerns.
The conference, which was initially scheduled for Zanzibar, was meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of EALS — the region’s most prominent legal organization with more than 45,000 members across East Africa, including a strong presence in Kenya.
